On a windy day in spring, Federica and Byron eloped in a romantic seaside ceremony.
Just the couple, their wonderful photographer Marta Demartini, yours truly, a beautiful bouquet by Robyns Nest, the waves and the wind.

Federica and Byron's seaside elopement reminded me of a poem by Rabindranath Tagore. We read it at the start of the ceremony:
"Early in the day it was whispered that we should sail in a boat,
only thou and I, and never a soul in the world would know of this our
pilgrimage to no country and to no end.
In that shoreless ocean,
at thy silently listening smile my songs would swell in melodies,
free as waves, free from all bondage of words."
Federica and Byron shared their vows, holding each other tight as the wind nearly blew us away! But their firm hands and warm hearts, beating with love and excitement, held them together as they made their commitments to a future life together - no matter what weather would come their way.
After their vows Federica and Byron exchanged heart-shaped pebbles, found earlier at the very beach where we gathered. It's magical how nature sometimes offers us unexpected gifts, and they were just perfect for that moment.
We framed that special moment with the following words:
"Federica, Byron, you both have found a heart-shaped pebble on this beach to give to the other.
A gift from the ocean, and a tangible reminder of the promises you just made today at this special place.
These pebbles were shaped by the ebbs and flows of the tide. Just as our lives and relationships are being formed by sunny and happy as well as more difficult and stormy times.
In this light, may your marriage filled with the confidence that together, you will be able to navigate the waves that life throws at you. And may is become stronger every day."
After the ceremony the couple made a romantic walk in the sunset, leaving their footprints on the beach, walking towards a future together filled with adventure, love, dreams and unknown destinations.
